The 7th Global Indian Festival comes alive with colour and excitement @ Mid Valley Exhibition Centre, Kuala Lumpur.

The event held over 10 days from May 29 – June 7, 2009 at the Mid Valley Exhibition Centre in Kuala Lumpur present the Indian community and others with an opportunity to celebrate the rich Indian culture with various activities such as cultural dance performances, fashion shows, games and colouring competition, mock weddings and 225 booths selling goods ranging from handicraft, textiles, bridal wear, cookies to jewellery and home décor.

Shopping delights, cultural extravanganza, fashion fiesta, a mock wedding, a tourism fair, fun activities for children, etc. they have it all here at the 7th Global Indian Festival, Kuala Lumpur – a truly ‘one-stop shopping and cultural centre’.

For this year, there are traders from Kashmir, Tamil Nadu, Mumbai and other Indian cities setting up booth selling an assortment of products from India.

At the Rev Henna Creations booth, Henna artist Revathi Seelan make exotic and exquisite designs for clients. The paste used to stain the hands traditionally for festivals or celebrations is made from leaves of Henna plant in most middle eastern countries such as Iran, Syria, Pakistan, Egypt, Morocco and India.

A collection of nickel plated pin art on display at this booth. Nickel plated pin art is a new form of art. These are literally pins that form an art that is hand done. It is created using thes pins which are 0.6 mm in diameter, pin heads and 2 inches in length.
