33rd Bon Odori 2009 celebration in Shah Alam

More than 30,000 visitors packed the Panasonic Sports Complex stadium in Shah Alam on Saturday, July 18, 2009 for the 33rd Bon Odori Festival celebration.

Everyone present, including Selangor Mentri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Bin Ibrahim, Japanese ambassador to Malaysia Masahiko Horie and his wife Mrs. Yoko Horie had an enjoyable evening of Japanese folk songs and Bon dance.

It was a colourful and joyful celebration which brings together Japanese expatriate community, Japanese language students, Japanese thematic clubs and societies members and Malaysians of different races participating in this great event which help strengthen existing bonding of Japan and Malaysia.

Bon Odori Festival. A great event. You see and feel the beauty of Japanese culture and tradition.
