Malaysia International Dive Expo 2009 attracts divers and water-sports enthusiasts


The 4th edition of the 3-day Malaysia International Dive Expo 2009 (MIDE) held at Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) Kuala Lumpur from 3rd -5th July, 2009 saw bustling crowd swarming the more than 150 booths on display the whole spectrum of diving gears, diving equipment, wet suits and clothing accessories, dive resorts packages, diving courses, tourism boards, environmental NGOs and wide range of marine-related international brands and products.

The response to the seminars held on water photography, videography and related topics; children's underwater colouring contest and demo activities of outdoor water sports equipments attracted a good mixed crowd. It was a great show indeed for divers (enthusiast, novice as well as professionals) and water-sports enthusiasts!

The Malaysia International Dive Expo was organized to promote Malaysia as world-standard for diving destination, water sports, and outdoor travel adventure within regionally and internationally.

At the Turtle Bay Divers booth, the Perhentian Island in the east coast of Malaysia is a hot favourite for divers. The island has many fringing reefs and is a heaven for scuba diving and snorkelling.

The inflatable kayaks on display by Active Sports - an online Singapore-based dealer for Blokart in Singapore and the distributor for Advanced Elements Inflatable Kayaks in Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand. The kayak is priced between RM2,188 - RM 2,388 depending on models.

The 3-day Tioman Mega Dive 2009 is an annual International Scuba Diving gathering of scuba divers with various diving related activities to be held on 31 July - 2 August 2009 at Tioman Island, Malaysia.

The Tourism Malaysia booth providing useful and interesting information of popular dive destinations in the country. According to Tourism Malaysia Tourist, tourist arrivals recorded from January to May 2009 were 9,238,116, representing an increase of 2.6% compared to 9,001,765 for the same period in 2008.


The Sarawak Tourism Board is promoting the affordable, unique and informative aspects of eco-tourism. At the booth, these men invite you to Kuching, Sarawak in Malaysia for the 12th edition of the Rainforest World Music Festival 2009 to be held from July 8 - 12, 2009.
