The Yoke Wong Thai Tay Temple in Section 21 SEA Park, Petaling Jaya held its 35th founding anniversary celebration on Tuesday, December 2, 2008 which was the 5th day of the eleventh Chinese lunar month.
The famous temple housed the main deity Yoke Wong Thai Tay or Jade Emperor God.
Together with my friends Vincent, Alex and Yap, we headed to the venue in the evening joining hundreds of devotees who thronged the temple to offer prayers to deities and received blessings from the temple mediums who include chief medium of the temple Madam Lim Koon Foong and senior medium Ronnie Chiew.

Present that evening were YB Dr Cheah Wing Yin who is Damansara Utama state assemblyman, Dato’ Dr. Wong Sai Hou who is former Kampung Tunku state assemblyman and his wife Datin Jennifer and Gan Keng who is president of Section 21 SEA Park Residents Association.
Since early morning today devotees from all the places inundated the temple by lighting incensed joss stick and burning candles to offer prayers to Jade Emperor God for good luck and health. The temple, located at No.37, Jalan 21/22 in a double-storey terrace house, provided free vegetarian lunch to all devotees.
The highlights of the evening were the spectacular acrobatic dragon dance and lion dance performance in front of the temple.
A stage was set up under a white-top tent on an empty space opposite the temple where popular local singers and a magic show provided the night’s entertainment.
RELA personnel were on duty to divert vehicles to alternative routes as the road in front of the temple was closed for the anniversary celebration.
