Exciting activities at 10th World of Chinese Book Fair 2008

Our children wanted to purchase some Chinese story and reference books to read during the year end school holidays so they were excited when we visited the 10th World of Chinese Book Fair 2008 today Saturday, November 15, 2008.

The 10-day fair is held from 14th – 23rd November, 2008 at Malaysia International Exhibition & Convention Centre (MIECC), MINES Resort City, Seri Kembangan, KL.

There was wide selection of books with more than 780 booths from 200 exhibitors selling huge variety of great Chinese books and magazines in every price range, interest and reading level. My children had a fun time finding the books they want to read.

I must say that the book fair was very well organized with good and well planned arrangement. I had thought that a book fair sells books only but this book fair sells just about everything, not just books. So if you don't read Chinese books, you can still visit the book fair for their other interesting stuffs.

Besides books, the booths also sell school supplies, stationeries, educational programs and toys and many others.

There were also lots of other exciting activities which make the book fair also a fun fair for everyone; such as children dance performance, lion dance, kids playland, pets corner, multi media corner, magic shows and meeting your favourite radio announcers from MyFm Radio.

MCA president and Transport Minister Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat was present to officially open the book fair. It was the first time I had seen him in person. He looks like a serious person.

The World of Chinese Book Fair is officially endorsed by the Malaysia Book of Records as the Largest Chinese books fair in Malaysia.
