First Putrajaya International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta 2009

The 1st Putrajaya International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta was held from 19th – 22nd March 2009 in a launch field near the MeCD building at Precinct 2, Putrajaya.

It was a breathtaking sight for thousands of first time visitors who watched the hot air balloons of various color, shape and size lifting off from the launch field.

The blue sky weather provided the best opportunity for photographers to snap photos and visitors to watch the hot air balloons in flight.

A gas burner is used to inflate the balloon bag to make the air inside hot.

Final inflation: Firing the gas burner to complete inflation. Raising the air temperature inside the balloon makes it hot and lighter than the surrounding air. The inflated balloon is lifted by hot air.
